Students from a widening participation background face countless barriers to succeeding at medical school. From the extra cost of travel and course materials to clothing for placements - it can feel like an uphill battle at times.  

 

This page details various funding opportunities available at each university and links to applying for them.

We hope that this information will alleviate some cost for current medical students and aid those applying to medicine in making an informed choice!

A lot of the options available depend on different circumstances or form , so it is important to have a read to see what you are eligible for and what is right for you.

  • Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (all medical students, medicine as a second degree in UK)

    • RMBF also have a list of charitable trusts that may provide financial support ​
